Traditionally, people have integrated business systems at the data file level. The interface program is coded to output the data to the many data files in the same manner as the entry program. This approach, a "black art" at best, proves extremely dangerous since the business system is being altered without the checks and balances protection of the entry program. The Nutech Screen Mapper maps data directly into screens such as Receipts Entry or Shipping Entry in your existing business system.

Here's how it works. Screen Mapper configures a virtual terminal on the iSeries/400. It then maps data to this virtual terminal making it appear to the iSeries/400 as keyboard input. Screen Mapper sends the keystrokes to sign-on to the terminal and then navigates through menus to the desired program. It then enters the program and simulates keyboard entry, as if an operator was seated at a keyboard performing the entries.

Screen Mapper is a much better approach than traditional data mapping. Business system programs aren't changed. Your valuable business data isn't affected by interface programs. It's extremely fast to implement. And it's easily changed to react to business system upgrades!

The direct benefit is an interface that is inexpensive to implement and maintain, as well as extremely flexible and reliable!
